Davis Memorial Church God

Pastor Eddie Davis along with with the support of his family and the Saint Chapel Church of God in Christ had a vision from God to build a new church in the Little Creek Community of Nacogdoches, Texas. The Davis family played a significant role in the development of the new church. Sadly, on November 16th, 1968, Pastor Davis was called from labor to reward. Pastor Amos Henderson and his family took over leadership of the church and completed the new building in September of 1969. To honor the memory of Pastor Davis, they decided to rename the church Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ. Church membership flourished under the leadership of Pastor Henderson. In 1996 the Lord placed it upon Pastor Henderson to build a new sanctuary. The church was finished in 1998 . Pastor Henderson served the Davis Memorial Church with his wife and children for nearly 30 years. In May of 1997 he was called home to be with the Lord. Elder Tom Henderson served as interim pastor for one year. In July of 1999 Elder A. L. Shaw was appointed as the new pastor of Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ. Pastor Shaw is a innovator in ministry who has taken the Davis Memorial Church to new levels and broadened our reach to a national level.
